January, 2010: The White Space Between VOTED NOTABLE BOOK OF THE YEAR BY BELLETRISTA, CELEBRATING WOMEN WRITERS AROUND THE WORLD.
QUEBEC CITY, THURSDAY FEBRUARY, 4, 12:10 p.m. Ami will read, speak, and show a slide presentation about her lost,
extended family on behalf of The White Space Between at Champlain St. Lawrence College (CEGEP) 790 Neree Tremblay, Quebec City.
The event will take place in Room 268.
A FICTION WORKSHOP FOR YOUNG WRITERS Work intensively with Ami on developing your craft and your own
portfolio of storires. Find out how to tap into your richest, deepest material and crack open your stories.
Supportive peer critique and Ami's expertise will help you get to the next level in your writing. This workshop is
open to Secondary 1, 2, and 3 students from any school. Held at Lower Canada College. Eight Weeks,
Thursday afternoons, January 14th-March 4th, 4:30-6:00 p.m. Workshop fee $200, payable to the instructor.

FRIDAY, MARCH 26TH : AMI WILL BE GUEST AUTHOR. Ami will visit Westwood Senior High School in
Hudson as guest author to read and discuss The White Space Between. She will be conducting creative writing
workshops with Grade 9 and Grade 10 students.
NEW YORK CITY: Ami will read from The White Space Between at The Writer's
Voice with the New York City novelist Joan Silber. The reading will take place at The West Side Y,
5 West 63rd street in The Little Theatre at 7 p.m.

MONTREAL: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 7:30 P.M. The
Jewish Public Library. Ami will present The Paul Trepman
Memorial Lecture on behalf of The White Space Between. She
will discuss the creative tension between white space and black
print, and between silence and speech, when honouring
Holocaust Remembrance. Her talk will be illustrated with
photographs of her lost, extended family and their home village.

Ami Sands Brodoff wins the 2009 Canadian Jewish Book Award for The White Space Between: The Martin and Beatrice Fischer Award in Fiction. Ami will attend the awards ceremony in Toronto on May 25th.

She will be participating in The Jewish Book Council's Authors on Tour Program on behalf of The White Space Between for the 2009/10 season in the U.S.
